Description: Andrea

Andrea has been my best friend since I was young we been in the same class all our lives, and we are always together. She is 16, and her birthday is on the 9th of June.

She is quite short, 3cm less than me, no more. She has very curly hair, I love it, but she hates it. She has brown eyes, and thin lips.

She is calm, and with people she does not know she is shy. But when you know her, she is so crazy, she laughs a lot (she has a very loud laugh). She has a strong mentality, because I don’t see her cry many times, she resists and smiles in front of the problems.

Apart from this, she is very intelligent, and she gets good school results.

The die of a boy on a level crossing

Public schoolboy on morning jog killed by train as he ran over level crossing wearing iPod

A talented public schoolboy was killed on a level crossing because he was listening to his iPod and failed to hear the oncoming train.

Sixth former Matthew Leonard was taking an early morning jog on Valentine’s Day when he was struck. He died instantly.

The 18-year-old boarder at the £25,000-a-year Christ’s Hospital School near Horsham, West Sussex, was captain of the school’s cross-country running team, a gifted mathematician and had been offered places at several leading universities.

The horrific accident happened shortly before 7am less than two miles from the school, which has 840 boys and girls who regularly achieve some of the best GCSE and A-level results in the country.

Last night the school’s headmaster, John Franklin, paid tribute to Matthew, who won a gold medal after taking part in a nationwide mathematics competition last November.

‘The school community is shocked and saddened by this news and our thoughts are with the parents, the rest of our pupils and staff at the school at this very difficult time,’ said Mr Franklin.

‘Matthew joined us as a sixth former, a quiet but pleasant young man who was well liked by both his own year group and those younger pupils with whom he came in contact.

‘He was a bright, hard-working student, holding offers for some top universities, and was also a talented long-distance runner.

I think this news was very sad, because a boy was died, but it can teach everyone to walk or run with music can be very dangerous, because you can not hear the noises around you-the car, bike or train.

Bibi

Brave Bibi the Time cover girl whose nose was cut off by the Taliban takes the New York subway

Smiling happily, these friends seem no different from the many millions who take the New York subway each day.

However, behind the carefree appearances lies a remarkable story of someone who has overcome the horror of a brutal childhood and the savagery inflicted on her in adulthood.

Because the girl on the right is none other than Bibi Aisha, the Time cover girl whose nose was cut off by her spiteful Taliban fighter husband but is now rebuilding her life in the Big Apple.

Thanks to the generosity of American people and the wonders of modern surgery this 20-year-old girl can now look forward to a bright future.

Bibi Aisha, now 20, is all smiles as she rides the subway with a friend. The young lady managed to flee Aghanistan after her nose and ears were hacked off by her husband

Bibi Aisha, now 20, is all smiles as she rides the subway with a friend. She had her nose and ears were hacked off by her Taliban fighter husband after she tried to flee the arranged marriage

At the age of 18, Aisha had her nose and ears hacked off by her husband as a punishment for trying to flee the arranged marriage, before being dragged to a mountainside to die.

Against the odds she survived and last August she gained worldwide attention after an award-winning image of her mutilated face appeared on the cover of Time magazine last August next to the headline 'What Happens When We Leave Afghanistan'.

After being offered sanctuary by the charity Women For Afghan Women, Aisha now lives in America.

Fitted with a prosthetic nose and dressed in stonewash blue jeans and a jacket, the young lady has already managed to fit in perfectly in her new home.

Aisha, who arrived in the U.S. in August last year, now lives in a shared New York apartment and is given regular care by doctors and therapists.

Bibi is an 18 years old girl whose husband, from an arranged marriage (because they are Taliban) cut her nose and ears off because she wanted to escape. He then left her to die in the mountains. She survived and escaped to America. The Americans helped to give money to reconstruct her face

I think in our culture, and elsewhere, any violence to your wife is a crime to be punished.

Thanks to charity, this girl has a new life, a new future, trying to live without fear.

Coca-Cola and Pepsi

COCA-COLA AND CANCER SCARE.

An ingredient used in Coca-Cola and Pepsi is a cancer risk and should be banned, an influential lobby group has claimed.

The concerns relate to an artificial brown colouring agent that the researchers say could be causing thousands of cancers.

‘The caramel colouring used in Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and other foods is contaminated with two cancer-causing chemicals and should be banned,’ said the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a health lobby group based in Washington, DC.

‘In contrast to the caramel one might make at home by melting sugar in a saucepan, the artificial brown colouring in colas and some other products is made by reacting sugars with ammonia and sulphites under high pressure and temperatures.

‘Chemical reactions result in the formation of two substances known as 2-MI and 4-MI which in government-conducted studies caused lung, liver, or thyroid cancer or leukaemia in laboratory mice or rats.’

America’s National Toxicology Program says that there is ‘clear evidence’ that both 2-MI and 4-MI are animal carcinogens, and therefore likely to pose a risk to humans.

This news article talks about the effects of the caramel colouring in Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

This cancer can cause harm to the lungs liver, or thirod. For me, this news is ridiculous, because if we start to think about all the things that provoke cancer, we must stop eating and drinking!

All the things in excess can provoke cancer, but with moderation most are good.

I think this news is created to advertise the people who drink more than 1 coca-cola or Pepsi a day.

Facebook

Today I will speak about the advantages and disadvantages of facebook.

Facebook is a good tool if you use it well, because you can find your old friend and “speak” with them. It’s also good to communicate with your family or friends in other countries, because you only have to have internet and the others things are free. In facebook you have chat to “speak” at that moment or you have their wall or private messages to “speak” them too.

The problems come when people don’t use it well. They can go to your wall and write bad things, or add“porn” photos and you can only can denounce this person and the third time the facebook owners close your facebook.

Another problem is the privacy, people don’t know they can not have privacy and the other people can look at their photos, videos, their wall and their information. In the world, there are many bad people and these people can take advantage of this and spy.

Finally, facebook for me is a good tool because I have used the system for privacy and people can not find me, and look my information. I use facebook because all my friends have it, and I have friends in other countries and it’s cheaper than the telephone.

Weekend in Tarragona

The last 22th of January I went to Barcelona with my mother, because from there, my boyfriend could come to collect me because the 23rd is his birthday. At the afternoon, we went to Tarragona with his car, and when we arrived at Reus, his city, we went to his house to meet his family. I only meet his father and Gemma, his father’s girlfriend, but I was embarrassed!

After that, we went to get ready to go out because we had a dinner with his friends; I was embarrassed for the second time because I hadn’t met his friends before either. But during the night I got to know them.

First, we went to the restaurant Tagliatella for dinner, it is a restaurant like Dolce Vita in Empuriabrava. After that, we went to pubs of Reus like “Green dog” or “Escacs”. In the pubs we danced a lot, and after we were very tired. At four o’clock in the morning we returned at Albert’s house to sleep. I slept in a other bedroom because his parents they didn’t won’t that we slept together.

At 10 o’clock, we woke up to take a show, for breakfast and to get ready. We had to stay in Barcelona again until twelve o’clock, because my mother was collecting me at The Sagrada Família with her friends, because the dream of her friend was to visit it.

In conclusion, I passed a fabulous weekend with my boyfriend Albert, I love.
